Check Web Site
|
| |
Your web site is identified by its URL, or Uniform Resource Locator.
Web site URLs must have the form of http://www.nodeworks.com for main sites
or http://www.nodeworks.com/sub-site/ for sub sites.
We require that we be able to contact the web site when you enter its
URL to verify its existence.

Email Address
|
| |
We uniquely associate accounts with user email addresses, and send the link check reports to those emails.
Because a user's email address is so important, we make sure to verify the
email address after a new user signs up or after a regular user updates
his or her account email address. We do this by sending a confirmation
email to the user which contains an activation code,
without which the user account will be disabled.
Your privacy is very important to us, and it is our policy that we will only use your email address for important communications regarding the NodeWorks service. We will never sell your email address to another company, nor use your email for promoting another company's products or services.

Max Links per Check
|
| |
The maximum number of unique links that will be checked on the web site.
Our robot will stop checking the site after this limit has been reached.
The last page checked on a run that exceeds its maximum links
will only have some of its links checked.
We count only unique links on any site, so if each page links to the same
header images, each image would only be checked and counted once.
This number is not related to the maximum number of links per page
which is 3000.

Schedule Checks
|
| |
Configure your site checks to occur daily, weekly or on certain days of every month.
Scheduled site checks will begin at 9AM PST on each day for which they are scheduled.

Dead Link Checks
|
| |
The number of times that a dead link is checked consecutively in order
to verify that it is truly dead. If a link returns a valid web response
to our system even once then the link is marked as a GOOD link in the
system.
A recommended setting of 6
dead link checks will result in dead links being rechecked over at least
2 days, as the system will requeue a link to be checked every 8 hours.
If you mark just 1 dead link check, then on the first
attempt a failed link will be marked DEAD. This is not a typical use
of the system, and should only be used if you want to receive the list
of possible dead links quickly, without verification.

Shockwave Flash Media
|
| |
We currently support checking links embedded in Shockwave Flash media up to and including version 6.
This setting will enable or disable checking of these embedded links for your site.
For those sites whose home page is entirely done in Shockwave Flash media, this setting
will need to be enabled for NodeWorks to check the site.

Account Password
|
| |
One must enter a password whenever that person logs into the system.
This is essential to security. Passwords must at least
6 characters in length because if they were any shorter, they
would be too easy to guess by a would be hacker.
Once you have logged in, you may use your account as normal.
If you do not use the web site for 20 minutes, your account session
will be terminated and you will be automatically logged out of the web site.
This is another security feature preventing
misuse of your account if you should leave your computer while still
logged into the web site.

|
| |
You must validate your password by entering it again, exactly as you did before. This is to make sure you know what you entered the first time.

Reminder Question
|
| |
If you forget your password, you can ask for us to email your password to you
by giving us your reminder hint. If you would like, we can prompt you with a question
for you to answer, and that is the reminder question.

Reminder Hint
|
| |
If you forget your password, you can ask for us to email your password to you
by giving us your password hint. For this hint to be safe and effective
we require it to be at least 3 characters in length. Typical password hints
might be your birthday month & day, like 0101 for new years,
or a common PIN number you can easily remember.
